Project Profiles. Anchor Brake Shoe

Project Reset

Anchor Brake BeforeAnchor Brake Shoe of West Chicago, IL was in need of a full replacement system and chose to work with Roofing Solutions in December of 2010. The existing 65,000 square foot roofing system is composed of an original asphalt built-up roof with a retrofit EPDM roofing system mechanically attached above.

The existing roof shows wear typical of an aged EPDM roof with "tenting" visible at all roof penetrations due to the shrinkage of the membrane- a very common symptom of a material with a dimensional stability (shrinkage factor) as high as 5%.

The new system to-be-installed is a 60 mil, mechanically-attached PVC roofing system with R-20 insulation.

Phase One: Major Demolition and Removals

Step one in this project involved the removal of some major abandoned rooftop equipment. Interior demolition work was carefully coordinated with our customer contact and all areas protected prior to any removals. The rooftop units and framing I-beams were disassembled and picked off using a crane. Phase one was completed mid-December and the re-roofing portion of the project is set to begin very shortly.
